Psychological Assessments and Psychometric Testing

At Madeleine Graham Psychology, we offer a comprehensive range of psychological assessments and psychometric testing to assist individuals with gaining a deeper understanding of their emotional wellbeing and cognitive abilities. These assessments are valuable tools that can provide clarity in diagnosing conditions, guiding treatment plans, and fostering personal growth.

Psychological assessments are used by psychologists and other mental health professionals to gather and evaluate information about an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning. Clients may self-refer based on current concerns, or assessments may be requested by doctors, schools, employers, government agencies, and solicitors.

Assessments provide a deeper understanding of an individual’s psychological well-being, identify potential issues or diagnoses, and inform treatment and intervention strategies. They may also be used as support for accessing funding under the NDIS.

At Madeleine Graham Psychology, we offer the following assessments:

• Neurocognitive assessments including ADHD, ASD, and memory functioning
• Intelligence assessments; Learning Difficulties; and Specific Learning Disorders such as Dyslexia
• Personality assessments

The diagnostic assessment process is a structured procedure and involves a combination of interviews, observations, collateral information, and psychometric testing. The findings are then analysed and summarised into a comprehensive report. This report identifies underlying issues, provides a diagnosis (if applicable), and offers recommendations.

  1. Intake Interview

During this session, the clinician will conduct a full background intake interview to discuss the current presentation and symptoms. The clinician will determine and recommend the appropriate psychological assessments. If further intake interviews are required, this will be determined and organised. Assessment appointment times will be organised. Fees will be outlined and invoiced for payment of a 50% deposit (of the full assessment price). 

2. Assessment Appointment/s & Process

You may be required to attend multiple assessment appointments/sessions depending on the requirements. Various assessments are conducted in session, online, or via Telehealth. We schedule the average assessment time that is required to complete the necessary assessments.

3. Feedback Session & Report

During this session, the clinician will discuss the results, recommendations, and any required interventions. You will be welcomed to ask any questions during this time. Upon payment of the final 50% of the assessment fee, you will be forwarded your completed assessment report.
